“Splitting Image” was written and recorded over the past year and a half. Through countless shows, and a few tours. The band stockpiled riffs and melodies that they couldn’t get out of their head. Some riffs lingered around for many years before finally being laid to rest within these songs. From sound checks in Portland, to living room jams in Wisconsin. And Charlie's loud 3am drunken jam in a Seattle hotel room. Every riff and chord that struck an emotional kick was included in this album. “Splitting Image” came to life on its own. Dark Satellite poured their truest genuine emotions into this album. Dusting off the cobwebs and removing the barriers they had, they opened up completely as individuals to express themselves and make this album nothing but an extension of who they really are. Every let down and set back became inspiration, and they were fueled and motivated by their ride or die friends. To keep pushing, keep booking and to keep writing. Dark Satellite consists of three human beings who are inspired by one another and want nothing but to sound like themselves. As well as continue to write and create music in their own unique style of chord progressions, beats and lyrical poetry. "Splitting Image" has been called; heavy indie, heavy prog punk, alt punk with hints of jazz, and many other variations. You be the judge.
Keep moving forward. Try new stuff. Play hard. Turn that amp up. Find your own sound. Do it yourself. Be genuine.
